Cali Raised Step Edition Rock Sliders - Install and Product Review

There are many ways you can protect your truck while off-road. Lifting your truck with suspension and tires will give it extra clearance so you can simply crawl over bigger rocks. Skid plates allow you to protect vital mechanical components from rocks and other obstacles. Bumpers increase your approach and departure angle while also protecting your rig from front or rear impacts but what about protecting the side of your truck?

Rock sliders are designed to do just this. A good set of rock sliders will keep rocks from hitting your doors while also being strong enough to support the weight of the vehicle during challenging break over obstacles. Rock sliders can come in a few different styles but the basic idea of them is the same. Today we are highlighting the Cali Raised Step Edition Rock Sliders for the 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma.

Design

Rock sliders generally will come in two ways, weld on or bolt on. The Cali Raised Step Editor Rock Sliders that we have been running are bolt on. This means that these sliders install on the truck by bolting to the frame. This may not be as strong as welding the sliders onto the truck but they still are strong enough to protect your truck from any obstacles and are fully removable if we decide to run something different in the future.

Cali Raised offers a few different variations of these rock sliders that you'll want to consider when buying your own. First one of these variations

Install

Cali Raised Bolt On Rock Sliders come with all of the necessary hardware you'll need for installation. Before beginning to bolt on your sliders you will want to secure the filer plate if you optioned your sliders with one. Once secured you will then bolt the sliders onto the truck fame by first using the 14mm subframe bolt. Once you have secured that in place you can use the rest of the provided hardware to secure the sliders to the frame of the vehicle.

Once all of your hardware is tightened to the frame your sliders are now installed and ready for the trail.
