Offroam Phone Mount - Install and Product Review

Phone mounts have become a necessity over the last few years and there are plenty of brands to choose from when you are shopping for a phone mount for your Tacoma. With many different price points and styles it can be hard to find one that will be durable enough for day to day driving and stable enough for the trails. The product we are highlighting today is a phone mount from Offroam. Offroam is a relatively new company that has grown popular because of peoples need for a more effective phone mount, on and off road. 

I have been running their 2012-2015 Tacoma Phone Mount for just over 4 months now and this mount has surpassed all of my expectations. Today we'll go over the design of this phone mount and its installation so you can buy this phone mount with confidence. 

Design

Offroam has made one of the best designed phone mounts for the Toyota Tacoma but that does come at a price. At $79.95 this mount is on more of the expensive side and to be honest when I was first looking at the Offroam Tacoma Phone Mount this was something that deterred me from buying it at first. I finally made the decision to purchase this phone mount and once it arrived I soon realized the reason for the price. 

The quality of this phone mount is far above any other phone mount I have seen for the Tacoma and that all starts with how it is packaged. Once you get the box for your phone mount you can tell that there was a lot of thought that went into how it looked and felt. They somehow made it a special experience just unboxing your mount.

That same quality continues to the phone mount itself. The mount is made from machined aluminum which is different from normal plastic phone mounts that you can find on the market and it also means that the Offroam Phone Mount is sturdy. I have done countless miles with this phone mount installed and have never had an issue with my phone or the mount rattling off-road.

The phone holder is a simple clamp design that allows you to easily insert and retrieve your phone at anytime but holds in down tight enough that it will stay stable on the road or the trail.

Install

Offroam has made the installation of this phone mount extremely simple and they provide a hex key which is the only tool needed for installation. The install of the Offroam phone mount can be done in three simple steps.

Step one. Take the Offroam Phone Mount base and insert it into the corner of your A/C vent until it fits snug into the corner of the vent.

Step two. Take the provided hex key and tighten the Offroam Phone Mount base until it is secure to the corner of the A/C vent.

Step three. Install the extension and phone mount over the base and tighten down by twisting the knob on the extension. 

Once you follow these steps your phone mount is now ready for use. If you need to adjust where your mount sits, simply loosen the mount with the knob and move it into the correct position.

Final Thoughts 

Offroam has done an amazing job with the quality and simplicity of this phone mount. It is surprising to have a phone mount of this quality that doesn't require the need of a dash mount or drilling into your dashboard. After 4 months of running this phone mount on my Tacoma and have had no issues and would strongly recommend it for those of you looking for a phone mount for your truck.
