Trail Review - Hell's Revenge
Hell's Revenge is one of the most iconic trails in Moab. A few of us at Tacoma Lifestyle decided to go to Moab during one of the warmer weekends this winter to hit some trails, one of these trails was the Hell's Revenge trail and we absolutely loved it.
Hell's Revenge
Length: 8.0 Miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Hell's Revenge starts just north of the town of Moab, Utah in the Sand Flats Recreation Area. It is one of the most well known trails in the area for its obstacles, slick rock trails, and views of the La Sal Mountains. It is by no means the most difficult trail in Moab, but it is a great trail if you're looking to push your off-roading experience.
Hell's Revenge immediately starts with a climb up a slick rock fin that brings you into a narrow canyon. From here it's a mix of slick rock obstacles and soft sand berms as you continue to one of the most famous obstacles in Moab, Hell's Gate.
Hell's Gate is a steep climb up a notch in a petrified sand dune. It can be done in a stock Tacoma but a good spotter or previous off-road driving experience is a must. Taking the wrong line can be costly as it can be very easy to flip your truck on this obstacle.
After Hell's Gate you loop back around to the Hell's Revenge Staging area. You're treated to scenic views of the La Sal Mountains before reaching the parking lot and completing the trail.
Final Thoughts
If you are looking to push yourself and your Tacoma in Moab, then Hell's Revenge is a must. Not only is it an iconic trail but it can be a great experience builder and stepping stone to more difficult trails. With scenic views, challenging lines, and memorable obstacles, this trail really has it all.
