Complete kit includes two enameled gloss black high-lift hood struts, heavy gauge gloss black powder coated brackets, all required installation hardware, and illustrated step-by-step installation instructions.  Even a drill bit stopper is included to make drilling safer.

Note: Manual transmission models with fender-mounted clutch fluid reservoir will require spacers between the inner fender and the clutch reservoir to provide clearance for the struts.  You can make your own spacers, or add our spacer-kit to your order.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!

I'm only 5' 3", so I have to use a stepladder just to open/close the hood on my lifted (3") 2010 Tacoma TRD Off-Road, and get the prop in place, which is the main reason I bought these. They look a little fragile, as they're slender, but work terrific. I just open the hood, give a gentle push and they raise it, then pull the hood back towards me to close it. They're a little spendy, but worth every penny to me, I love them! I had them professionally-installed, so can't speak to that process, but the technician said he had no problems at all.

Hood struts

I give this a 3 because they shipped me a return order for a 4runner with only two pieces of hardware. Unfortunate but ship happens.... I haven't received my strut with proper hardware yet. Praying that I didn't just spent 100$ for nothing.

Sturdy, easy install

Follow the directions to a T and the install will be a breeze. You’ll need a rivet gun to mount the brackets. I got a decent one from harbor freight for $12. It was sooooo satisfying when I effortlessly popped the hood on my next oil change. Also, one benefit i didn’t think these struts would offer is the pressure they provide on the hood creates a bigger gap when you pop it open so that it’s much easier to unlock the hood.
