Must Have for Truck Bed Protection

With my BAKflip MX4 tonneau cover this was a must have to secure my bed belongings. Installation was straight forward and videos made it easy. It’s great to be able to lock my doors with remote or by door handle and know tailgate is locked. Definitely recommend this unit.

Still can’t believe this wasn’t a default on my Tacoma. Regardless, this fit the bill for adding locking to the tailgate, was easy to install (take your time running the wiring), and works great!

Great addition to make life a little easier

I have the Retrax PRO tonneau cover and one key to lock the doors, another key for the tonneau cover, and then use the main key to manually lock the tailgate. WTH Toyota?! This thing was a great upgrade. Took me about an hour plus (it got dark, making it a bit challenging) to install, and the longest part was threading the wiring from the cab to the tailgate. The instructions were mostly super clear (looking on my phone was a bit challenging, but that was my own issue). So far, the thing works great. And although it's a bit noisy, it's great for my OCD and wondering if it actually locked or not,....I can always hear it lock!
